Looking back I can understand why he didn't want to talk about it. Imagine centuries of secrecy... and then that guilt being placed on you. You trip balls surrounded by people that trusted you your entire life to never say a word. You'd have it written all over your face.

If you saw him, you'd say he was white, but now after seeing more of my fiancee's family I can see the traits a lot more clearly now. I was amazed the first time I saw this guy - granted it was awhile ago - and thought he was BSing me.

I know the Australian Aboriginals are so secretive that no one even knows what substances they use but can only speculate.

I'm fairly certain that unless a chemical/food/dye/etc. causes immediate damage it can be distributed to the masses. Aspartame, for instance, shows no long-term effects - well, of course it doesn't, it hasn't existed long enough. But that's ok. You might get a softball sized tumor in your brain in ten years, but its alright that you don't keel over after a cup of coffee.

Thanks for answering that. I actually haven't done much research on them myself, other than how to tell if a pack has them. The first one of the day is when I could tell the biggest difference.

I agree with the OP. I need to quit of course, but at least I am smoking American Spirits. Last year I bought some Camel Lights when a store was out of Spirits and I couldn't even finish one so I gave the pack away. It tasted like weird chemicals to me, and left a lingering unnatural taste and was just plain awful. I am sure I'll never go back to anything similar. Natural tobacco is totally worth the small increase in price.

That being said I expect to quit again this year. A year ago I quit for about eight months, only to relapse. Now that I don't drink I suspect relapsing won't be as much of a problem though. I have quit smoking several times in my life for periods of over six months, heck I thought I was free and clear by that time in each case but then I would start having one or a few while drinking late at night. Eventually I would find a pack in my pocket then next day, have one in the morning, and *boom*, right back to previous levels of consumption.

Oh and regarding the damn FSC crap, it does suck but there is still a big difference between Spirits and the other big sellers as far as I am concerned.
