Dragons Age(origins)
    #11762742 -

Anyone else playing this?  I got it for xmas and have logged about 35hours so far.  All in all it's pretty sick, somewhat complicated but sick.  The dumbest thing i've found so far is this one spot where you'd have to be connected online to d/l something you'd recieve.  What a fking joke that is.

I got it for Christmas too and I'm loving it. I love the large epic RPG styled games. I'm a human rogue specializing in two weapon fighting and poisons. How about you?

When you go to the brothel, do the 'suprise me' option, it yields funny results.

I started with an archer character, that class is very flawed- bad perks, pathetic amount of damage and in general- useless.

Restarted with a mage and the game got infinitely better...

I have a human warrior, but I have not decided if I am all that happy with it and kind of want to restart with a mage.
I love the game.

I've got a castless dwarf rogue specializing in dual weapons.  He's cool *shrugs* .  I have found no use for trap making.  Havnt done much with my poisons yet either.

I acquire all these items that are above my and my parties lvls, i keep everything and am having a hard time keeping up space heh.  Some items are better than ones i use but they just dont look as sweet

Started with an elf mage, made her a healer.  Its a good game, I may play it now.   I fear I lost the chance to make her a blood mage though.

Does the game have a bank or some system where you can store your stuff someplace? I'm quickly accumulating cool items and I already bought one backpack.

I'm pretty sure all you can do is buy more backpacks, at first they seem kinda expensive but before you know it you're selling stuff from trips and have plenty of sovereigns(gold coins).  Whenever you see a pack buy it, the last thing you want to do is have to go back and forth because you only have 20 xtra spaces left.

Boy i've been stuck for awhile, i havnt really done any fighting for a day or so, it's getting somewhat old.

Yes I've been addicted to this game lately!

Played through with a Dwarf Warrior first, that was fun being a noble and bossing people around.
Being a rogue is definitely where the game is at though.
I'm on my second game now and I rolled an Elf Rogue.

But I got a feeling I'll be playing this game through another couple times

Mines for 360..  i'll say one of the things i dont like is you cant splash through small puddles, you dont kick up pollen when running through flowers.  I'm not sure what game you can do that on but it's just something that stuck out to me.

Dont get me wrong tho, still sweet.  I havnt seen much about oblivion

ps.  If anyone can help me figure out why i cant get the finger bone(BONE)key out of dust town.

The thing I love most is the speech system.
It's like you're actually having conversations, the responses are so accurate to real life, and everything you say impacts relationships and builds your reputation.
Gamers might actually be able to communicate with people now!

Definitely not as deep though. Nowhere close.
I could spend 80 hours on a single character in Oblivion easy.
Whereas Dragon Age is more like 35-40. But Dragon definitely has more replay value.

I like Oblivion better in terms of gameplay and depth and graphic stlye... but DAO doesn't make you replay the same copy-and-paste oblivion gates and cave systems all the time. The insane amount of repetative, meaningless, randomly generated, cut and pasted enviornments in Oblivion was a major downfall. Everywhere you go in Dragon Age is well designed and at least mildly inreresting so the whole game feels more complete. The story is also told much better.

Both games are really about equal in my oppinion.
