super sweet cereal

Do you all still enjoy the ultra sweet cereal from your childhood? It seems like the older I get, them less I enjoy really sweet food. My favorite thing at this point is pretty much cold instant oatmeal with a little bit of granola and raisins.

Is my tongue broken?:sad:

I add a spoonful of cane sugar to it if that makes it any better.:crazy:

Like I said, I think my tongue is broken, because I just can't eat things like fruity pebbles or lucky charms anymore.

those marshmellows were never very good

they give the same kinda sensation as nails on a chalkboard

but I still like good sweet cereal


fruit loops, frosted flakes, mini wheats(kinda healthy too but I liked em when I was a kid)

I'll never be too old for cinnamon toast crunch!

I'll make an exception for frosted mini wheats, but even they get to be too sweet by the end of the bowl. Even with things like chocolate or other candy my tastes have changed from sweet to bitter or spicy. I enjoy extremely dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate, and red hots instead of sour balls.....ok, sour balls are still kind of awesome.:grin:

Breakfast is about the only meal I can actually eat a ton of super sweet things. Any other time of the day makes me feel ill or it just doesn't taste right.

And Lucky Charms is the best cereal ever.

Frosted Mini Wheats is one of my favorites, and still is.

Capt'n Crunch ranks high on the list as well.


Anyone a fan of drinking the sweet, sweet milk at the end of the bowl?

It's even better with the fruity dyed cereals.  Sorta like a liquid, neon breakfast dessert.

I consider that to be the epitome of sugary cereal indulgence.

i cant really do candy at all. even the non-sweet stuff (like red hots).

im all about a good curry though.

and i can eat potatoes for breakfast lunch and dinner 7 days a week.. if i ate nothing but potatoes for the rest of my life i think id be ok :smile:

i'm not quite to the extent that you are with your sweet-to-nonsweet transition.  i can still eat sweet cereals and rather enjoy them [pebbles, cinnamon life, frosted miniwheats]; but often towards the end of the bowl the over sweetness is starting to get to me.  and i can certainly appreciate nonsweet things more these days than i used to.
