Old Usernames

I've noticed many usernames created a long time ago(months-years) w/ only 1 or no posts, which leads me to believe that many of them were created for the purpose of acting as a puppet or for a specific post or contest. I think all these usernames with 0 posts or even 1 should be deleted. Just a suggestion...

Seriously... I look through the user list and see many user names created in 2001 w/ 0 posts and no info entered and many are just copies of already used names.

It's this very problem that caused me to end up with this name.

I guess my name is like anything else. No matter how dumb it is, you get used to it after a while.

This is not quite the case.

Users with 0 posts were and are still deleted several times a year.

I know it's not quite the appropriate place for this question, but I also know you'll answer it right away...

Once we choose a username are we able to change it down the road while keeping the existing account, or must we open up a new account to do so?
