any WW 2 collectors with bayonet knowledge help?

I know this is a long shot but ive found an old ww2 bayonet,
it has the markings of 127 on one side of the blade and EAB on the other with a single crown.ive also got the original frog.
from what ive been able to gather, EAB was a swiss manufacturer and the 127 should be a model number but im not finding it anywhere.
it was passed down by a grandfather or great grandfather, we dont plan on selling it i was just curious if it was worth anything.

Sounds like a M1867 bayonet probably worth 50 - 100 but I'm not sure, definitely not worth thousands.

awesome, thanks, i looked up the wikipedia artical and it seems kinda confusing. was the rifle the bayonet was ment for made in the 1860's? was it used in ww2 by the norwegians? that seems like a long ass time to just keep some clunky old rifles sitting around considering how much the rifles had changed by the 1930's/40's.

I'm fairly certain that during WW2 the Norwegians had carbines that where based off the earlier Remingtons.

The original M1867's where not used by the Norwegians during WW2 and that's for sure (although they may have been used by some resistance groups who could not afford up to date military weapons)


Carbines fired a different caliber bullet than the original M1867's I believe the carbines fired a 10mm and the M1867s fired an 8mm (or maybe visa versa)

So the origin of your bayonet is most definitely with the WW2 carbines, it was probably made during the WW2 era.
