Doesn't the atmosphere reflect the light?

They reflect light, just like the moon. Venus is extra bright because its atmosphere is super dense and it's close to the sun.

They're not really that bright at all. At night your pupils dilate to compensate for the lower photon emissions which causes this optical illusion. Planets also look bright compared to stars because stars are many light years away. The nearest star, alpha centauri is 25.8 trillion miles away. The brightest planet from our vantage point is Venus and it's only 162 million miles away.

I think this is the correct answer.

Yes, as entropy said, its light from the sun.

Stars emit their own light, hence the winkling - planets reflect light so appear to not twinkle.  The amount of light they reflect depends on the weather conditions on the planet.

stars "twinkle" due to light-distorting effects of our own atmosphere. go into space; stars will not twinkle.  this is precisely the advantage of space telescopes over ground telescopes.  the twinkling has nothing to do with whether it is a planet or a star.

If thats true then why do planets not twinkle ?

From the naked eye, planets are the ones that twinkle. stars do not..
