I almost forgot about Yellow Submarine! See, this music has been such a part of our culture, it's absorbed almost subconsciously. When I was 16 or so and started to listen to actual Beatles albums, there was such feeling of familiarity. I had been hearing some of those songs my whole life, either through my parents (hippies, yes), through cover versions, or just random happenstance. The Beatles are a constant thread in my life, and once I realized their importance...

So did y'all like the recent movie Across The Universe? I really enjoyed it, though I thought it spent too much time on plot lines and romance.

I thought Across The Universe was pretty good(saw it in theatres on teh LSD), but a lot of music snobs really hate it.

I'm not a fan of musicals usually, but I liked that one.  Lots of good visuals and well directed.

I really liked the canvas of bleeding strawberries. And when Prudence came in through the bathroom window. And I LOL'd when Bono started prancing around, walrus-like. Definitely entertaining, although if I didn't love the Beatles it would probably not ever be on my radar, or need to be.

I don't listen to much of the beatles, but a few of my favorites are Strawberry Fields, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, imagine (solo john lennon?).
