I've seen some Bollywood films lately

Or, I guess they're Bollywood films.

Indian cast, speaking Hindi (I guess).

I like the few movies I've seen.  They seem pretty light hearted, and the clothes and backgrounds are great.  The women are fracking beautiful, and when they go into their songs and dances, well, man...

I think its funny how in every movie I've seen, there are a couple sequences of song and dance.  I like it.

Just watched one today called "Saawariya", its about this guy Saawariya who loves this chick, but she loves some guy she's been waiting for for a year, and this prostitute (who was hot as hell) loves Saawariya.  Its funny how the conflict is so similar to American movies of the same stereotype, but the ending was wayyyy different.  The guy didn't get the girl.  He didn't even get the prostitute.

And I think its hysterical how they throw in little English phrases, like "So sorry", and "Okie Bye!".  Its great.

I find it interesting that many Bollywood actors are actually more famous than American actors, yet Americans never hear about them.

That's one thing I really like about the movies I've seen... they weren't filled with explosions and special effects, but they really were entertaining.

I was watching Dev.D the other night, awesome movie. It's pretty much as 'modern' as bollywood has gotten so far. pretty slick stuff.

I don't care what anyone says, the soundtracks and song/dance sequences in this movies are badass. They give these stories some style, personality, character, etc. can't remember the last time a hollywood flick's soundtrack actually left an impression

I liked how Slum Dog Millionaire was nothing like your typical Bollywood film, until the very end and they all broke out into song and dance and then :ilold:

some of the stories are pretty good. i really dont see the need for the song and dance stuff in every movie though.. im sure its cultural.

i believe that bollywood puts out just as much, if not more, movies per year than hollywood does.

id love to go to india one of these days..

I can't stand Bollywood films tbh, they're just...too nice? and lighthearted? ... I also don't really like musical type films so its just not up my alley.  The only film i've liked with musical bits in it was sweeney todd so i don't know what that says about me.

I fucking love Indians though they are some of the funniest, craziest folk i've know :lol:
