Psylobye cyanfibrillosa

I just got a positive i.d. on this mushroom :grin: and it is not very far away. i went to the San Francisco Mycological Society fungus fair today and got 4 people to give me a positive id . one of the people was a (headliner) of the fair. pictures to follow if anyone is interested

I know for a fact I have seen that mushroom on my hikes, just thought it was a lbm or lwm...lol. SHIT I have to go find that again.

it's actually the vagina of an extinct marsupial from new zealand. 
however, the animal was a tree dweller.  i do not believe that the sasquatch could consume this particular vagina, as the smell would intoxicate the beast into vomitous convulsions.
also, i believe that sasquatch has been rendered extinct on the island, due to the presence of man-eating fungi, which apparently enjoy the big-feeted types as well as the regulars....

  something that i observed ,that wasn't mentioned in the description of p.cyanofibillosa is it seems to selfdigest with age or when drying ,as c.cyanescens and some conocybe do . in older specimens the spore print may appear black rather then purple/brown .i've found some with dark eradesent blue at the base of the stem when fresh ,yet they bruise black and may become completly black by the time they are dry .

i wonder if this could be due to a high  psilocin and low psilocybin content.?

i hope this helps .i know how difficult it can be to try and identify a black pile of mush.
of course this is all only conjecture because the facts have been digested  :laugh:

I have been pretty hunting pretty actively in the Bay Area for several years now, collecting ounces upon ounces of cyanescens in a pretty consistant basis, but this year has been shit so far, but I was able to harvest a few Cyanesens today...Although I should have been better informed...I was blinded by the tunnel vision of looking strictly for cyans...Ive seen tons cyanofibrillosa, but just never knew it! I saw some today, Im certain of it...Ill be back tomorrow for a better look. I am deffinately looking for a knowledgable hunting partner....Im in the east bay.
