Stereo or Nice Furniture

So I got some money, and a new pad...I need to furnish it.  Now my choice is, get good furniture, or get a matress pad to sleep on and a sofa and a stool, and spend the rest of the money on a hot stereo.  I want a nice receiver and some Klipsch RF-52 floor standing speakers and the subwoofer...and a 42 inch LCD TV.  So, if you were me, would you go for the really cool furniture, or buy minimal furniture and get a cool TV and stereo?  I tell you, I'm leaning towards the stereo....

a man can make due with cheap even hand made furniture. but without a good stereo system...fuck that. u could even throw parties and charge people to get in and get better furniture like that eventually.

As long as what you get is comfortable and enough to have guests then go for the sound system and tv man! But if it's not going to be comfortable I'd just go with some nice comfy furniture and wait for the tv or sound system (get one of them still:wink:)

It depends really, but while I had the money I would prefer to invest in a good mattress, but thats just me and my shitty back

No, I definitely intend to get something good to sleep on, that can't be comprimised.  But I think I can get along with a stool and a cheap sofa, and floor cushions.

I'm not sure what your resources are like, but you could also buy some wood and make stuff to sit on for pretty cheap. But things to sit on(and relatively comfortable) are easy to come by.

Get furniture.  It will last much longer and you won't want bring attractive women back to a pad with a mattress pad and stool.  I'm sure the TV and stereo isn't going impress her.  Nothing says "broke ass college kid" like no furniture and a big tv.  I say get your priorities straight, because the awesome TV you plan on buying is going to be half that price next year because of all the new shit that keeps coming out.  You're gonna see the TV and stereo a year from now at a much cheaper price and think "Damn, I paid way too much.  I shoulda waited."

I would say use craigslist for finding furniture or go to a used furniture place and pick up some nice, cheap stuff and then you can still go out and buy a nice tv and stereo...  I say get a sam's club, costco, or BJ's membership...  you can pick up a nice new HDTV for way less than what you would pay anywhere else.  Plus, with the membership you can just buy stuff in bulk and save up.  You won't be making as many trips for groceries and you'll save a lot in the long run...
