cut open a frog today

so today in my biology lab we studies animal diversity...

we looked at some parasites under a microscope, examined a variety of several anthropods and looked at a jelly fish... last but not least we dissected these huge bull-frogs i suspect were caught from the wild... the female frog was bearing so many eggs that you literally had to spend a few minutes scooping them out before you could even see the organs...

anyways it was kind of fun but now that i am really stoned at home i feel kind of disgusted and bad for the frog... and its a funny coincidence that our professor surprised us with a frog because (in case anyone hasn't noticed) a few other people and I have been obsessed with the feels good head for a while now...

anyways i never dissected a frog in high school so i was eager to dissect a frog in a college setting , but now that its over with i get a little queezy thinking about it lol

I dissected a pregnant cat in anatomy lab. I also dissected the babies. No one else in the class would touch them. It was awesome. Then in zoology lab I dissected a frog, shark, rat, pig, starfish, and some other random invertebrates that I can't remember. Science is fun.

Try doing the facial muscles on a human. 

Gross anatomy, its much weirder than a frog.

I cut open a frog once. Took the heart, liver, spleen, ovary, lung, intestine, eye, gall-bladder, oviducts and kidney. Put the organs in a jar of formaldehyde and made wicked microscope slides. I spent myriad of hours gazing upon the microscopical anatomy of the frog.

I would LOVE to take gross anatomy. Unfortunately I have no way to go about that seeing as I have no desire to work in the medical field, and it'd be kind of sketchy if I just randomly started showing up in labs.

I love anatomy and biology, but reading this is giving me the heebie jeebies right now. I'm high too :shrug: I've dissected a sheep brain before and was alright with it, yet the notion of dissection is preventing me from taking any more of those classes now.

I've done frog, fetal pig, shark, and squid.

All are pretty nifty, didn't much care for the squid.

The frog pissed me off because the scalpels they gave us were dull as fuck, and the formaldehyde or whatever causes the frog and its tissues to get all stiff.  It just felt kind of fake the whole time, like I was dissecting a dummy or something.

i had disected a fetal pig, a nurse shark, a frog, a worm, a sheeps brain, and a cows eye from high school through college...pretty interesting if you ask me.

no need to feel sad man, thats the way of life, if it weren't for studies like these, we would not know near what we do.

Yeah the formaldehyde makes everything seem like it's made out of smelly, slimy rubber.

My high school through college (bio major) dissection list is frog, earthworm, 4 fetal pigs, 2 or 3 sheep hearts, sheep eye, cow eye, cow spinal cord, live chicken embryo, lamprey eel, shark, cat, and probably a few other things I forgot. I also was able to visit 2 human cadaver labs. I love dissecting stuff. :awesome:

Yeah man, the earthworm smelled really weird. Shark smelled super funky too.

One time we got some sheep hearts that were old and the preservative was breaking down. They were starting to rot a little bit. The smell was disgusting and I was incredibly hungover. I don't know how I didn't puke.
