UFC 107 Penn vs the Homosexual Wetback

It's actually a very good main event.


Sanchez is a mentally strong opponent.  He's going to put up a very strong fight against BJ but will it be enough?


I still give the overall skill and experience edge to BJ Penn, considering he's been fighting in the octagon for his entire career.


But it's going to be a really interesting ground battle imo.  BJ definitely has the superior standup.


As for the rest of the card...



Why the fuck is Cheik Kongo still in the UFC?  He has zero ground game.  This is a stepping stone fight for Frank Mir.



Florian vs Guida is a good fight.  Challenging matchup for Florian coming off his title loss.  I'd still give the edge to KenFlo though, as we pretty much know what to expect out of Guida.




Mike Pierce is a fighter I was sort of adamant about coming to the UFC.  But beating Brock Larson in your octagon debut is pretty damn impressive.

Of Course though, John Fitch is one of the best in his division.  I take him to win obviously, maybe even finished by GnP TKO.



Paul Buentello should never have gotten booted from the ufc.  He had one lackluster performance against Aldana on an undercard, and he was out.

Classic striker vs grappler matchup.




Wilson over Belcher.  Great matchup though.

I like Palhares



I think Shane Nelson is a fighter who has alot of potential in the standup, but he's just not mentally sharp or strategically legitimate.


We'll see though, maybe he got his act together.  I dont know how good of a coach BJ Penn is.

Should be a good card.  The only thing that sucks though is if BJ wins, where does he go from here?  A fight with Tyson Griffin? Guida? Grey Maynard?  I wouldn't be that interested in those fights, especially if he runs through Diego like he did Sherk, Stevenson, and Florian.  Oh well, should be a great fight though.  I honestly think this his biggest challenge at 155, even more so than Sherk.

there's a TON of outside talent in the lightweight division.

Hansen, Aoki, Kawajiri, Alvarez would all make intriguing fights imo.
