Injuries via extreme sports.
    #11567463 -

Have any of you shroomerites ever gotten any injuries doing extreme sports?

I have.

I broke my forearm skateboarding a little flat ground rail. Went for a back 5-0 and fell backwards, tried to catch myself with my arm, and she snapped!

Grousome pic I managed to get my friend to take before the pain kicked in. Sick thing is my muscles started to get tense and made my arm bend with the break even more. My arm looked like a 90 degree angle by the time we got to the E.R.

Also, when I went snowboarding for the first time in my life last winter at Winter Place, WV. I broke 4 ribs. I fell straight on my chest trying to slow down and started coughing up blood. Too bad I was at the top of the hill, so I had to snowboard all the way down the slope, falling many times of course, just to get back to the lodge. It sucked bad!

Nothing more then a few bruises. I'm lucky, I've never broken a bone. I think it's all the milk.

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think; I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder - "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal?

I've never technically broken a bone, although by all accounts I should have broken about 20 by now.

Probably my worst accident.. I got hit head on by a car going ~35mph when I was 7 years old, I was riding my bike. The bike went under the car, I went over.. my head cracked the entire windshield, and I skid about 25 feet on the pavement before I stopped. I didn't break anything, but I fractured my leg (don't think that counts as a break?).... the worst part was the hundreds of pieces of gravel and broken glass that became embedded under my skin from sliding on the road. I remember sitting in the ER fully conscious while they picked it out with tweezers for HOURS.
EXTREME SPORTS!!!

Then I almost shattered my ankle skating, trying to do a 360 flip down like 9 stairs. But luckily I only sprained it, cause thank god I know how to take a fall from martial arts training. If I had hit at a slightly different angle I would have been fucked up for sure. I saw my friend COMPLETELY shatter his ankle on the exact same stairs.. he had to get complete reconstructive surgery to rebuild the ankle... metal bars and plates and screws and the whole 9 yards, shit was gruesome.

I've been in a lot of spills and bad falls between skating, snowboarding, ATVs, biking etc... fuck I've been hit by cars 3 separate times on a bike. But somehow I've always managed to come out ok with nothing seriously broken or fucked up.
