Stroke? Or just really baked?

I really want to smoke tonight, but I think I have a problem.

I have been smoking pretty much every day after work for about 3 months. It's the longest I have ever smoked consistently. Normally I either run out or just figure out that I need a break, after about a month and a half of smoking nonstop.

Last night about midnight I lit up a fat bowl. I was ok for a bit but then it felt like something was really wrong. I felt numb on the left side of my face.

I had a little panic attack that I managed to get control of by breathing exercises and just trying to stay calm.

But then it got even worse. The left side of my face went completely numb and then started to BURN. It spread to my neck and shoulder. I also noticed it was really hard to breath, like I was out of breath and just couldn't catch it.

My left eardrum was making popping noises and just wasn't working correctly, like there was water in there or something. I thought I was having a stroke, because my mind felt like it was closed off or something on the left side, like my awareness was just a fraction of what it is normally. It was really scary!

The worst of it lasted about 15 minutes. I slowly regained control of my motor functions after some time, now I am just a little sore on my neck, but feel pretty much normal otherwise.

This has never happened before. Was I just really tired/baked?

That could certainly be a stroke. Go get checked out. Don't mention weed.

this same thing happened to me.  it would throw me into panic and anxiety.  eventually i quit smoking weed because it would come back every time I got high.  I quit for 2.5 years and haven't had the problem since.  i think it is an anxiety reaction and it is cureable by taking at least a good break from weed.  its 3 years after i took a 2.5 year break so...yeah, im smoking again.

Could be a mini-stroke. Or it could be a heart attack. At any rate you should get yourself to a doctor or the hospital!!!

The hospital would be able to tell if you had a mini-stroke, and a blood test should figure out if you had a heart attack.

On the other hand, you may just have been really baked! I've been stoned enough to have had panic attacks like that.

I agree with LSDreamer could be something so go see a Dr. but leave out the pot thing.

I too have had panic attacks on pot. Just yesterday I smoked a bowl and started playing Modern Warefare 2 and then all of a sudden I couldn't see the screen, it was like my vision was blurred and I couldn't shake it off, but it was so bad that I couldn't see. I too thought I was having a stroke or something really was wrong with me.
My Mom came over unannounced to bring me something for the baby and when she saw me she asked me if I had a fever, I felt myself and I was burning up hot. I have been fighting some lung thing, nagging cough and I guess I had a really high fever and then I got high and almost cooked my brain or something so I was going blind for reals.

I just dose less now that I know that pot brings on these panic attacks and I still smoke everyday.

I think I might have just burned myself out or something. I was really tired because I ran 5 miles the day before and it was very late when I smoked.

It felt really weird and not at all in a good way. I am going to smoke a little bit right now and see how I feel. I wasn't going to but my family is here and they are all tokin' up.

After this though I am taking a nice long break!

you cant tell doctors in the states you smoke weed? isnt there some sorta doctor patient  confidentiality shit?

definitely go and get a cholesterol count. there are free clinics. your life isn't worth risking

I told many doctors about all the drugs. they never judged, and just recommended to slow down certain things

wtf, you don't want to tell the doctor what you suspect the cause of the ill-feelings were?  how are you supposed to get good medical advice if you leave out a behavior of yours that most likely caused the feelings.  it isn't illegal or wrong to admit pot smoking to a doctor.

You won't get in any kind of trouble for telling a doctor what drugs you do, but in most cases it's better not to. If you have something wrong with you, even if it's caused by drugs, a doctor should be able to diagnose it in most cases without knowing about your drug use. If you tell them you use drugs, they're probably going to be quick to blame it on the drugs, skewing their diagnosis. Best not to tell a doctor about your drug use in most cases.

Yes there is, infact, I suggest you tell them you smoke weed because it's part of the picture.

1. How old are you?
2. What's your resting BP?
3. History of blood clots, stroke, cardiac issues in the family?
4. What medications are you on?

That'll guide me in the general direction, but in any case, you should see a Doctor /Stat/. Depending on the 1-4's above, I'd say you may have experience a trans ischemic attack, but from what I understand the onset was directly after you had smoked weed, so I'm guessing that may have been part of the issue.

See a doctor.

These guys says that you should be able to talk to your Dr. are absolutely right. Better that the Dr. knows everything leading to the episode in case it is a blood pressure thing aggravated by the pot.

I live in Cali and waited forever to ask my Dr. about medical pot, when I finally did she tried to push prescriptions on me for my ailment and so I went to another Dr. and got my card.

Yeah go to the Dr. and be honest

I'm 24, normal blood pressure/body weight. I guess I don't exercise or eat that well either but  I am pretty healthy otherwise. I go to the doctor often. I haven't been sick with the flu or anything. I ran 5 miles a few days ago, which might have something to do with it.

I take a ton of herbal supplements for arthritis and am hoping that mushrooms will cure all my ailments in the near future. I haven't tripped in forever and am going crazy!

Btw I am getting blasted on just 1 hit! haha

look up anxiety attack symptoms. They can get pretty crazy. Smoking weed will trigger one for me sometimes. I put down the pipe for a bit and now its much less frequent

sounds like anxiety. I used to get pretty bad panic attacks off weed. I used to get the same numb face and "brain popping" effect. IF you hurt after your not high anymore you really need to get your self to a doctor.

if your running 5 miles regularly I dont see why youd be having a stroke, at you age especially.

I smoked some really potent weed with a friend who had a new illadelph bong and he wanted to be a big shot and get as high as possible.  I personally don't like to try that and tend to get uncomfortably high sometimes using a bong, so by the time we finished the bowl he had packed, I was starting to feel my heart rate accelerate and the beginnings of a panic attack.

To make a long story short, I experienced the same stuff you described, to a certain extent, but it had everything to do with the fact that I began to panic.  You can manifest symptoms fairly easily in that state of mind.
