it's a great track, but i would call it straight up trance as opposed to psy trance.

not a fan of trace so much... it's too club oriented but... this was well produced i think... goes into some cool progressions in the middle here... but i get a little lost on the constant trickery of the song dropping in and out as it does.... but again club thing? :shrug:

it's good.

criticism:
you do a lot of building up in the song, but it never really feels like it's going anywhere. it was kind of boring in that respect. i think you should experiment with some harder hitting beats and faster tempos.

it's partly personal preference, but this is something i notice about a lot of good GOA/psytrance bands: they know how to build suspense in their songs. you want people on the edge of their seat like "omg this is where shit gets crazy." you've got the calm before the storm, but it just kind of faded out and didn't amount to anything memorable.

i'll say it again though...good track. you are going places dude.

This is pretty good man, your production is good.

Constructive criticism; Maybe try some slight variations on that full-on bassline, build up to a climax just after the half-way mark and die down again. Use more percussion,
hand drumming samples/tribal drumming loops add an oldschool, more organic sound, and maybe layer some entrancing, modulating 303 acid pulse/saw waves.

Good work man, we need more people making this music. :smile:

I can agree with all of them.  You have pinpointed my weaknesses and I shall be working on them :vaped: .

  Intensity is the hardest thing to capture with out a track getting to "busy", I have been REALLY trying to get different with my percussions, but once again it just kept getting to busy, or switched up so much ti sounded like a completely different track.

Should I get more weird with percussions?

I appreciate anyone who even gave it a listen, thank you.  Your support is the reason I Do it.

the sound is good, but it also sounds like a bunch of loose parts stiched together.
for example, the beginning melody is interesting, the it disappears and a beat kicks in. it would be way more interesting if the melody stayed!

good use of fx on the vocals
the percussion drowns kinda in the mix, making it less uplifing (use EQ to fix)
you have some interesting sounds and melodies in there. use automation (on cutoff, resonance etc) and/or fx (for example slow flanger)  to make a melody evolve more making it interesting to listen to it longer. Also in a break leave a melody or percussion part (for example) going on so it keeps flowing in stead of everything stops and you have to start everything over again.

I hear enough material to create 2 tracks in here! :laugh:

Hopefully I didn't sound too harsh here... It sounded good and keep up the good work! just work on song structure more :thumbup:

Very good track as usual!

Criticism: Was a little too clubby, maybe that's just me.:shrug: Should have played a little with the beginning melody to create a beat.

I agree with the other sentiments. The main thing you're lacking seems to be a central "hook", it's like your song is building up and building up to something that just kind of fades away. It should build up, build up, build up.... and then EXPLODE WITH THIS SICK ASS CRAZY BREAKDOWN HEAVY BASS HOOK INSANITY. That's just like, my opinion though.

Production quality is grade A and you got some nice melodies in there but it needs more "UMPH" and everything needs to tie together a little better. With the aforementioned sick ass hook that you need. And you're cooking with fire

For percussion mate, what I've found seems to get things clear, layered, not sounding too busy but instead phat,
is to have quite a few percussion loops going, run through FX, lower in the mix, but more of them, I have mine around 30-40%.

Stay away from too many loops that have kicks and snares. Have 1 or 2 full loops in a section that are quite meaty, and other loops of softer hats and percussions lower in the mix, but have 2 or 3 layers of these that come in all at once in climax sections.

Use EQs on the percussion loops cutting at 90-100hz, and boosting on and around the fundamental frequency.

Compression to your liking. The EQ will bring the sound out in the mix, the compression will give you generally more gain and a tighter percussion sound.

But nice work man, more layers in there and you would have a very full phat track.

Arrangement.. can talk about this for hours.. but in the general gist of things,

INTRO - SECTION A - BREAKDOWN - SECTION B - BREAKDOWN - (CLIMAX) - OUTRO

would be a general simple arrangement of a track, you can do whatever you want, but if you follow a pattern like this (that could have as many different sections as you want)
then that might be a help in terms of setting up where you would drop a full mix of all the instruments and percussion in the track.

I use quite a few VST plugins.

Sytrus (guitar/lead/pad)
Alien 303 (basslines, leads)
Renegade (pads, leads)
camelspace (FX)
camelphat (FX on percussion and hats and anything)
dblue glitch

There heaps more but I'm too stoned to remember them right now lol. Feel free to PM me man if you want any more info

I use CamelPhat VST as an FX plugin for my percussion loops. Sometimes I use a bit of reverb. I always use compression, and EQ.

I have multiple drum loops in the climax parts after the buildups, and also programmed hi-hats running through CamelPhat and an EQ.
