I only got one reply to my post when it was highly unfinished.  so, maybe this will be better.  This is the only E-community I have at the moment to throw my music at, so be kind :laugh:, I am no pro.

Ahh nice track man. Has that old school goa vibe to it- love that sound.
Whats the bpm? Only suggestion I would have is to make it a little faster. Maybe I'm just listening to the full power full on too much though? :shrug:


I've been wanting to start making my own psytrance tracks, but clueless where to really start- any tips?

Yeah the keyboard is really nice, beat is cool. Even put me into a trippy state of mind. I think you really have potential.

BPM is at 135

I dig the faster tracks too, but I wanted to to be dance-able without going crazy.

  No samples whatsoever.  There are audio samples, but I made them with midi and exported audio so I could manipulate.

My setup is fairly simple right now.  Just some studio monitors, Cubase 5 +VST's, and a MIDI keyboard.

The new Ci2 will be in the mail tomorrow!

Shivaswisdom -  It will take quite a bit of motivation to get going, search a torrent site for fruity loops or reason, (both basic setups), If you are really computer savvy Cubase is the bees knees, but it has a harsh learning curve, it is like starting with a completely blank pallet.

Thanks guys, good to hear it!

You will be hopefully be hearing much more from me soon.

Plus, I am looking to expand genre's to more of a shponglesque style.

I really love how they can make a 4-beat dance-able track that does not sound like trance at all, more like a tribal interpretation of archaic shamanistic rituals.

Ah that makes sense to me then. In my opinion life begins at 144bpm, haha.

But yea, I'll probably get one of those programs you mentioned and fool around with it a bit to get my bearing, than probably shoot you a pm.
After going to the parties for a while I have the urge to start making my own sound and explore my mind- hopefully I have the ability to stick with it.

To what you said about shpongle, I was just having that
same thought about how danceable their stuff is yet
not very trancey.

I would really, really like to get started doing some stuff like
this, when I get some more time and motivation I am going
to pm you and look into getting some software.

Not me but if you want cool loops and samples, electrypnose is selling them for a really nice price on his website. They're beautifully made. Fun to play with and you can make some cool stuff even though you are knowledgeable enough to make it without the use of samples.

I once vowed never to use another persons sample that I am not working with.  It seems super fake to me.  My music comes from my ego expressing itself.

I haz a Vanguard vsti. but that's more for hardstyle/rave music.
but that's the only one I have.
I'm not very used to making digital music.
I've always made my own sounds/tracks/samples/loops acoustically :[

Do you have any ideas of ways I could get my name out?  The more people that dig my stuff, the harder it try. (I am sure that is pretty average).  And it is such a great feeling to know someone enjoys something I have created.
