Thanksgiving

I always get depressed around this time of the year. The city I live in is very poor and despite seeing homeless black people on a daily basis I have never been able to become desensitized to it like some people. Thanksgiving is always the worst. I feel so bad for the homeless black people that are unable to afford turkeys. I wish that there was something I could do other than donate to charity. Alas I am at a loss here.

Will you be alone and hungry on Thanksgiving?

If you're well off like myself do you donate to charity on Thanksgiving?

Go work at the local Rescue Mission.

Its a wonderful feeling. If you don't work there, at least donate. Then you won't feel so terrible.

I won't be alone on Thanksgiving, just with the girly friend. Never have been much of a "lets all get together" type person. Prolly won't even remember its Thanksgiving.

I aint typed on here in a while, but i is mad as hell and got to tell somwebody and yall always listens to me. My caseworker said just cause us that is on welfare dont get no free turkey this year. That aint right, we always gots one in the past. I is tryin to rise these 5 childrens on what little foodstamps they give us ever month. it wouldnt hurt them to give us a turkey agan this year. So, im complanin here yes I am. I gets wic for these kids but times is still hard. sec 8 pays my rent and all but my welfare check can only goes so far. Its only right my childrens have turkey this time just like everbody else in this town. I feel like cussin out my caseworker but that might not be good thing to do. I hope my church gives out turkeys this year. I;ll let yall know if we got a turkey. Peoples need to try and get along both black and white in this city.

That's a very plausible idea. I'll look into local rescue missions.

I was thinking about maybe being one of the salvation army bell ringers around xmas time.

fuck you, The goverment is supposed to help folks that cant help themselfs. Ever where I go in this town they is white folks and some black talkin bad about peoples that is on welfare and foodstamps. All peoples of all colors needs to try and understand that some folks needs help from the goverment. Like i said, i growed up the hard way in Iberville projects here in new orleans. My momma had 8 of us kids to raise. Then i wind up havin childrens to and lived in iberville doin the best I could until that storm hit. Lets all try to get along and quit so much hatin of folks.

my names skakeeda I aint prejujiced, but its peoples like you that causes race hatin in this town. I grewed up in Iber project and went through that katrina storm so dont tell me! fema helped me get a new start after that huricane.

I told yall that i would let you know if we would get a turkey. Reverend Leroy at my church done said that they is gonna give out turkeys to those that cant afforsd one. He took my name down so me and my childrens is gonna have turkey dinner this year. And to that dam stupid honkey on here that called me white, I been ritin on this board for a long time, just aint rote on here in a while. Yes I is black and aint no white pretendin to be black. I aint prejujiced. I have 5 childrens to take care of with no help from that no account husband of mine. He is over in angola for 20 years, done kilt a man over some dam crack rite before the storm. I have white friends so dont tell me i is a racist. Black and white folks can get along in this town if they tried.
