Farscape and Firefly were way better. in fact, it's time for me to re-watch Farscape again. i have a Farscape marathon all to myself every year around this time.

Stargate Universe is crap, even when compared to its predecessors (Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis).

i tried watching a few episodes and the storyline sucks. sure, it's pretty with all it's CG and whatnot, but overall it is crap.



and Farscape is and will always be better.

I liked sg-1 much much more. Amanda Tapping it HOTTT!!!!

but I'm not to judge a television series only on its 9th episode. I hear it's going to get much more intense once all the alien species start showing up. after the mid-season break.

I LOVED SG1. Universe is pretty cool. Atlantis was eh ok. Star Trek Next Generation ftw. Enterprise was bestest. Firefly rocked.

yeah it's off to a pretty slow start I'll admit. but I'm not giving up just yet. I see great potential in this show. I believe the "stuck on a ship for character build up" part will pass soon, and that it's not the plot to the entire show (for freaking god hopefully).
and if it has as many seasons as its predecessors, it will most likely have much much more to it. which could be epic. epically epic.
but hey, I'm an optimist.

and I developed a crush on Carter whilst spending pretty much all of last summer watching the entire sg-1 series.
and she was young at the time! :crankey:

I have watched every single SG-1
I have watched most of the Atlantis but not all

I watched the first three episodes of Universe

SG-1 = badass
Atlantis = badass
Universe = utter shit

Universe is the biggest fucking cliché and they failed miserably at getting us to care at all about the characters which none are likable except the nerdy kid who is extremely uncrucial to any plot whatsoever so far.

depends, I saw some crap where everyone went to a planet and they were
dead, some shit about crap in their water, little alien veenoms that
cured them and wormholes through solar flares equating to time travel,
even though that was done in SG1 a dozen times

Yeah, it sucked THAT BAD.

I hope for Stargate franchise's sake that it gets better but from what I've seen it sucks balls very hard.

I don't have cable so I have to wait to see the rest of the episodes.

I also want to mention it eerily reminded me of the beginning of Atlantis except Atlantis had likable characters, and character building was more thought out. Also it wasn't cliché after cliché after cliché after cliché

You are right though that it may be a little prejudice to say the whole show sucks after 3 episodes.  I hope it gets better

EDIT: I just have very strong emotions because of my love for the Stargate franchise. I had low expectations for Universe and those were far from met
