How much piracetam should I take before I do mushrooms? * 1

So does anybody have an idea about how long before the shrooms I've gotta take the piracetam. Also how much would I need to enhance my trip.

well, a FOAF done piracetam and LSD...yes it was very strong (felt three times as powerful). Think it was between 2x800g and then 1x800 towards the end of trip, lasted 12 hours.

I think it would affect the trip if you compared 1.5g + piracetam vs 3g no-piracetam, much more visual but less body/mental/spiritual high.

I haven't gone back to piracetam since the days I was using piracetam and alcohol, had a thunderclap headache, had CT and Lumbar Puncture... not fun! but that was probably a problem related to the mixing with alcohol, in any case I'd advice be careful. Qualatively syrian rue and mushrooms are probably a better option, as syrian rue as a MAOI has its own subtle psychedelic properties, whereas piracetam is a reversible MAOI and doesn't have psychedelic properties in itself (but is very good when combined for visuals)

I was doing piracetam when I was studying for my state exams but I ceased taking it. I know about the alcohol IT SUX. Also my cannabis high got altered like more clearminded. Anyway I am really looking forward to visual experience and I really wish I could find syrian rue.

syrian rue as far as i know is toxic in frequent use(if done more then once a week) better choice - ayahuasca vine banisteriopsis caapi  although rue is much cheaper.

What exactly does piracetam do for you while you trip?

From what I can tell, make things more visual?

Is it worth it to go out of my way to get some?

WTF?Piracetam is no MAOI,and the alkaloids in syrian rue are reversible MAOI's...please educate yourself before posting advice.

I find it more of a deliriant... too much rue makes me crazy and almost paranoid, like I'll think of a person and believe they're hiding just outside my window, and I'll keep checking for them and no matter how many times they're not there I think they're hiding somewhere nearby.

This is true.

However, I have heard that it nevertheless can potentiate psychedelics, though not in the same way as an MAOI. If anyone has any experiences with potentiation, I'd love to hear. How much piracetam did you take? What do you feel it added to the trip?

Yeah...it can potentiate trips...but not trough inhibition of MAO.

It might just carry them more efficiently trough the brain as it increases blood-low or maybe by enhancing cognition it enhances the visual proprieties of psychs...

I can't tell the difference between a piracetam enhanced trip and a regular trip. Maybe I need more experience. However I felt a major difference for the THC high. It made it a bit more boring. But if u take it regularly for a month your brain get saturated with the drug and alters your brain metabolism. When that happens you are able to cope with enormous amounts of information (doesnt make u more intelligent, just helps u remember stuff). If u have tough exams I would recommend taking some on daily bases. It worked for me..I scored 96 and 99% on the school leaving exams.

In vitro studies of effects of some nootropic drugs (centrophenoxine, piracetam and aniracetam) on monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity in the rat striatum and hypothalamus, using tyramine, serotonin and beta-phenylethylamine as substrates, were carried out. At all concentrations used (5.10(-5)-1.10(-3) M) centrophenoxine inhibited total MAO, MAO A and MAO B in both brain structures. Piracetam activated striatal and hypothalamic total MAO, hypothalamic MAO A and MAO B but exerted a pronounced inhibitory effect on MAO A and MAO B activity in the striatum. Aniracetam inhibited total MAO and MAO A in both brain structures but activated striatal and hypothalamic MAO B. The different effects of centrophenoxine, piracetam and aniracetam on MAO activity in the brain structures support the view for the independent mode of action of nootropic drugs in spite of their similar molecular and metabolic activity.

Huh. So it inhibits some MAOs and enhances others. :strokebeard:

Sounds unnecessary... if you wanna trip hard, just take more shrooms as nature intended!
