snowboardings

im going to start snowboarding
hopeing to be able to have alot of fun with it (ie freestyle)..

who snowboards here?? have anything to say?

Snowboarding is fun as fuck. If you're just starting, you need to brace yourself for major butt aches. You're going to fall on your ass a lot inevitably.

But once you get the hang of it, it's loads of fun.

I have two friends that are professional snowboarders and both have broken bones from it. So, prepare yourself for that, too, if you're trying to go big.

I've gone once, and indeed I hurt my bum several times.
It was definitely a fun time though!

I haven't been in like fucking four years now.

Got some nice gear too. I should bring it back to CBus with me after I'm home for Christmas. Maybe make a trip out to Colorado with my roommate.

ive snowboarded before i know whatchur tlakin about.. im preparing myself ..i just been so down for the past couple years and like.. earlier this year i had this urge to snowboard..so im gunna take that and gunna try and have alot of fun and fuck around and hopefully start doin it as much i can.. i just need a release and i remember how awsome it was

I can testify to this. I just started last season, and fell A LOT. I've been up 2 times this season, and I still fall. I would definitely say I get better each time I go up, but its been a slow learning curve for me, I'm completely hung up on toe side carves.

But, its still tons of fun. Once you gain enough to control so your comfortable stopping yourself, you can actually pick up some speed, and hopefully carve a little bit. Thats where its at for sure. You just gotta try not to over think it and be totally relaxed...aka getting over your fear of falling. :smile:

Which sometimes takes falling a shit ton to get over. But stick with it and you'll be bombing down the mountain in no time.

Snowboarding pays off SOOO well after you have a good season of learning in. Because then you can start having real fun in the terrain park, or in the woods even.

I'm looking forward to our week long trip to Boyne in Michigan this year.

I wish it wasnt so damned expensive.  I'm wanting to start learning pretty soon but i have absolutely nothing, obviously i will/would buy a used board and bindings but still...boots/pants/jacket and then a daypass or seasons pass.
You're spending maybe..$1000 for a starter season maybe. I wonder what it would feel like to be one of those people your parents pay for a good amount of stuff for you, that'd be saweet.  "but then you wouldnt learn anything" .
Anyway yeh i've been hung up this year on thinking about starting, sure would be fun.. plus my g/f teaches snowboard lessons, tis a no brainer.

i know wat you mean luckily im 18 n my parents will buy me stuff (as an early christmas present of ocurse).. but yeah man i know what you mean... i always wish that my parents had money to spend, and although they do.. its not much...and i also owe 700$ for a year worth of UA's :facepalm: makes it that much worse to have to go and ask them to buy snowboard/jacket/pants/bindings/boots,ect...

but hopefully i can like work at some kind of resort when i get older and better..so i can alwways be there..

Hell yeah! I snowboard all the time. I allready got my season pass to one of the resorts/ski hills in my area. I can't wait for it to start snowing. :snow:

I need to get a new board for this season. My old one is too small for my weight and it's getting full of deep scratchs so it slows me down big time.

I'm thinking about getting the LIB Tech 'Skate Banana'. I wanna check out the new reverse camber they use.

Cant wait for my local slope to open up, probably be another month but hopefully sooner.  I got a whole set of gear during the off season and am going to get a season pass and try to go every weekend.

Fuck the park... backcountry in combination with a low and managable dose of mushrooms is were life begins, only thing that would beat that in this world is sex on mushrooms in da mountains...
