First time watching 2001: Space Odyssey

I'm to the part where they show the first spaceship scene about 30 minutes in. So far it is awesome! I didn't know all that music came from this movie haha. Props to the composer.

PS: That Strauss tune was actually laying around, gathering dust, for about 100 years before Kubrick made it a hit... :wink:

To top it off I'm using my studio headphones with a nice amp and a 37" tv watching it in HD. I've been holding onto the Godfather too, I don't know why but delaying the "best" movies for a crappy day can turn them into an awesome one! :grin:

wait, you haven't watched The Godfather!?  wtf!?  props on getting around to watching 2001.  it's a bit slow moving compared to what we're used to these days, but it's a fucking masterpiece.  a technical wonder.  fucking fantastic, nothing short of.

but i don't know what you've been waiting for to watch The Godfather.  totally epic.

You haven't seen 2001 until you've seen it on LSD. It becomes life-changing. The messages start to pop out at you at such high levels and frequency. About life, friends, technology, intelligence...

I actually DID find it really long and boring. I couldn't sit through the whole thing.

Maybe I'll have to give it another shot some day though.
