Shotgun RH prob
    #11326048 -

Just built a Shotgun. I have smal hole all over the 6 side every 2 inch or less. around 2 inch off the groud. but the rh is droping near 80. I do have a mecanic Hygrometer that I bought in a cigar shop and that I did calibrate in a wet towel for 2h.

Ive read somewhere that It may be caused by a low rh in my house. What should be the rh in my appartement? or is there maybe other reason.

Check the RH of your room to see how low it is before you run a cool mist all over the place.

Is your perlite wet and how much have you got?

You might want to re-calibrate the hygrometer.  Also, don't forget that you need to mist a few times daily.

I have no cake in it atm, I was doing some test before birthing them.

When I had rinse the perlite a few minute after the hygrometer was showing near 100%. now, a day later it is showing 80% ( I have 2 hygrometer, the other one is cheap but did show 80% as well)

but do you think it may be the fact that there is no cake in it ?

I don't think the cakes have much to do with it.

What is the RH in your home? I've seen that around 50% would be ideal.

Look into cool mist humidifiers to bring up the RH in your home if necessary.

To keep the RH near 95%, you have to mist about 3 times a day.

It will definitely drop without it.
