Fucking sold out shows

I was gonna go to the Andrew Bird and St. Vincent show last night.
Sold out.
Converge and Mastodon tonight. About to leave, check door times to make sure we're not there doing nothing and listening to sound checks.
Sold out.

What the fuck.
Worse yet is every time I do buy tickets to shows in advance they don't sell out and I get stuck with a ticket or two because my friends always back out of them.

I feel you man. I would love to see 311 next month, but its sold out. One of the only shows I really wanted to go to too. I'm tempted to buy them off a scalper :confused:

Yeah if this was at one of the venues on campus or my car wasn't fucked up I'd still go. My roommate (and my ride) doesn't care that much and I'm too sick to be walking that far. I'd be willing to pay 40 bucks most likely. I usually avoid sold out shows, but of course I make exceptions if it's some I really want to see. I've been excited to see Mastodon since it was announced, should have just gone to the box office a couple weeks ago for tickets.

For those of you that don't know, Metalocalypse is a cartoon TV show aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. It is based around the fictional band called Dethklok and is a comedic interpretation of the metal music scene. A virtual version of the band Dethklok was created to tour and perform live. Dethklok will be having a concert in Columbus on the 20th of October for those of you who may be interested. Opening for them will be the heavy metal band Mastodon who you may or may not have heard of. I have included links in the e-mail so you can see for yourself if this would be something you are interested in.
