Snyder
Jones
Irsay
Davis
And these guys actually run the teams, as opposed to Rush, who would have been a minority owner with nothing to do except collect profit, if there is any.

Al Davis is one of the founders of the NFL- sure he's an ass but he isn't going anywhere.

The NFL doesn't like controversy and needed Rush like they needed a hole in the head. This deal was never going to happen.

Those guys don't have daily where they spew divisive and outrageous vitriol on a regular basis.

It would be an absolute night-mare for the NFL to be associated via ownership with the kinds of things that people like you love to hear Rush say.

It's a no-brainer to nip that in the bud.

Maybe, maybe not.  The thing is he knew he was going to be a lightning rod when Checketts asked him to invest.  Checketts assured him it would be fine and he could take the heat.  Dave Checketts is a dumb lying cunt as basically everyone in NY knows from his tenure here.

Have you ever even once listened to Limbaugh?  Or do you just get reports from D-Kos?

Yes, I know. His poaching of talent from the NFL and success with the AFL made the merger with the NFL inevitable and the modern day NFL was born and better for it.

He also had great success with the Raiders for 20 years until he apparently began suffering from dementia in the mid eighties.

Whether or not Checketts lied to him is irrelevant.  The NFL did not, and when they found out about it said in no uncertain terms that it was a bad idea.

He wasn't wronged in any way.  The NFL has a responsibility to its employees to promote the league in a manner that will make everyone, ownership included, the most money.  Allowing Rush to own a team would be bad for business because he is physically incapable of keeping his gigantic mouth shut.

To answer your second point, conservative radio media dominates the market here.

I am bombarded with Rush, Michael Savage, Dennis Miller, Laura Ingram and a whole slew of home-grown redneck racist retards here on a daily basis.

There is one AM station of any repute in this podunk town and they fill it nearly 24/7.  To get almost any kind of timely traffic, weather, or news information it becomes necessary to listen to their shows, at least in part.

I am much more familiar with their positions than I care to be, trust me.

Not to mention I've never read anything on DailyKos in my life, you rotten fogey.

The NFL didn't ask him to bid.  Nor did the NFL ask him not to bid.  It was all Checketts, who is an incompetent cunt as any New Yorker knows.
