NaOH will not dissolve into the naphtha.

What your tasting IS DMT.


Unless your pulling up the water (black liqud) with the naphtha (the goldish layer on top) there will be NO NaOH in the crystals.

And as stated before, IF NaOh was in the DMT, i would not vaporize near as easy.



HDPE is OK, and NaOH can etch glass, but a good pyrex used for the time it takes to do the the extract is resistant enough and, IMHO easier to use and pull/decant from.
