Eczema
    #11118411 -

Jesus, it hurts.

I can control the itching, but I cannot control the open sores.

I use hydrocortisone.

What do you hippies think causes this, and how do I deal with it?

Please tell me hippie magic.

Stress is known to make it worse.  I work with a guy who just got it at the age of 40 and coincidentally he just bought a house and is under immense pressure at work, fear of being let go, losing his house, letting his family down etc etc..

I don't know that much about it but I imagine the typical anti-inflammatory supplements would help.  Try a couple grams a day of pure fish oil.  I like the carlson natural brand in the bottle.  It is flavored and high quality.  Some of the no name shit in the gelcaps from the drug store can be rancid and will actually make your health worse.  If you arent sure just split open a gelcap and smell it.

I am dealing with eczema right now. It sucks particularly because it's on my hands and I use my hands for everything!

Some advice from me: topical medications hardly help. You need to get to the source of your issue, which typically is an allergy.

I highly recommend going to an allergist and/or dermatologist to have tests done to identify your allergens. At that point, you can avoid what you know your body is allergic to.

If you have occasional flare-ups (like myself) even after knowing what you are allergic to, try to drink more water and get a lot of rest each night. I find that whenever I have at least 8 hours of sleep, my eczema subsides.

You can also try acupuncture, which has helped me tremendously.

You can see pictures of my progress (and enter to win some products that help me with my eczema) on my blog: http://skinnygirlapril.wordpress.com/

Hope this helps.

hippie magic :flowerchild:

most soap will fuck me up bad. body soap, dish soap, and laundry soap.
long showers will also fuck me up, too. I don't know if its just the water of maybe shit in the water.

I stopped using all soap,  i wouldn't even touch the stuff and now im pretty much normal again.
I just have dry skin.

I recommend this exact lotion. this is good stuff.
http://www.amazon.com/Aveeno-Naturals-Moisturizing-Soothing-18-Ounce/dp/B001E96LCM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1253919415&sr=8-2

I also discovered that I can use aveeno soap without dying.
hypo-allergenic laundry soap, is key also.

If you are poor and dying from it, you can score topical and oral steroids on the webz from mexico for cheap.

I got a new car a while back. I got my Ezcema around the same time. Perhaps I will have to see about reducing my allergens.

It's fucked up that they use things that a lot of people are allergic too. It can't be necessary.

Thank you all for your responses.
