I don't have the time to watch this at the moment, but Oliver Sacks is a pretty awesome writer and in most of his books can be found various explanations for the psychedelic experience, even if they are not tacitly written about that subject.

That's interesting about the teeth/eyes part of the brain.  I've had a lot of acid visuals involving teeth and eyes, and I always wondered WTF was up with that.

That was an :awesome: vid man, thanks for posting.

I was kinda hoping he was gonna talk about people that were born blind having visual hallucinations
I can fully understand why/how someone who had vision, then lost it could have them
I just wonder if someone blind from birth could have them :strokebeard2:

I definitely have liked Sacks' writings, a good many of which I read some years ago. side note - another book I loved that I always *think* was Sacks and then remember it wasn't: The Man Who Tasted Shapes by Richard Cytowic - it is a cool book about synesthesia and has some great case studies. In any event, I love case studies of weird mental conditions as they illuminate much about consciousness in general, something Sacks has always been good at.
