Word. I don't get it. I mean, I'm all for sentimental value & all that, but shit, the memories are where it's at..........and being able to share that experience with someone who might otherwise miss out on it, THAT'S what's up. I have mine stashed away for just that purpose.

i've got four bracelets on from this year/last year's festivals. they're all cloth and colourful and i like them, and no, they don't bug me, and yes, every time i take a shower so do they.

furthermore, this is not very unusual for the psytrance scene here. both guys and girls do this. there's a guy who's got bracelets all the way up his forearm.

so it's kind of weird seeing all these negative reactions to bracelets... what's the big deal?

OP: your GF says it's "immature"? translation: it strikes her as too subcultural, maybe? it's one thing if it's completely grimy and tattered, but if it isn't, i'd try explaining to her their significance to you.

if she doesn't get it, that's not a terrific sign. you want to be with someone who's not going to be all weird about "how you reflect on them," which is how i find a lot of mainstream people are. there's only so much your S.O. can change about you before they might as well just date someone else. :P

I grew up watching "He-Man", and what he is to me is a cartoon hero who makes me remember running home in a dead sprint after kindergarten with a couple of friends so that we wouldn't miss the beginning. I've lost touch with a few of them, and at least one is dead, another grew up to be a junkie. But for a couple of years, before we learned about materialism, and popularity and all the other trappings of Western Culture, we were just a pack of innocent kids playing, before our worlds went insane.
