I've heard that the stuff in the can is supposed to contain the highest concentration of mercury, though I don't know for a fact if that's true.

I would guess BS cause there are so many different companies that use the cans and use different sources to obtain there fish. And its obviously not the packaging that gives it the mercury.

Wait, really? I used to eat a LOT of tuna (4-6 cans PER DAY) as part of a bodybuilding regimen... I read 2cents's post and was like, "yeah, I do *seem* to have some memory problems.." then I read elementswrath's post and that freaked me out, I've had a lot of anger problems over the years. I wonder how much of that is just me though, I've had anger problems since I was little. I just wonder whether maybe mercury exacerbated them?

no it's how well the mercury has been strained out.
canned tuna is poor cuts cured in a poor way.

Yeah, from what I've read its supposed to be because they use portions of the fish that contain higher concentrations.
