Yeah I hear that, I'm definitely disappointed in where they've taken their music. They're all such talented individuals, especially Zach, but I just can't really get down to their jams anymore. I still can't get enough of their older stuff though; that was some seriously cool & spiritual stuff.

I don't know why everyone is dissapointed in Sound Tribe lately, I think they are still killing it.

Saw em at House of Blues Chicago and they blew me away, it was a face melting show for sure. I'm curious to see where their 'new direction' leads them.

Agreed.  Their old shit is sick.  Imo they are the most talented band on the scene right now and they are throwing it away to do what Murph so eloquently describes as "what makes the ladies dance."

It's all a matter of taste. I'm not into the club-banging beats & rapping so much. Their older stuff, on the other hand, was really deep spiritual stuff & and a hell of a lot of fun to dance too.  They used to break out crystals onstage and whatnot. My friends that were really into them back then described their shows "like going to church". A psychedelic church.... They still have moments, don't get me wrong, and they will always be incredibly talented; I just don't like where they've taken their music.

One of my friends, who was into them back when they were still just known as Sector 9, says it best. "Before they started sitting down to pee."

He was telling me about the late-night set they did at Bonnaroo in 2002. They were all getting down, and Mike Gordon was wandering around the festival grounds solo, spun cookies, & he heard this incredible music at around 4 AM. He followed the sound all the way to the backstage entrance & told STS9s tour manager that he wanted to play. STS9s bass player (I don't know his name) announced his presence, gave him his bass & busted a slide guitar, or something of that nature & they just went off. Gordon all goofy, late-night style just throwing down with them. My friend said it was
