This is hypocrisy at its finest. Society says it's okay for us to drink our livers into cirrhosis(sp?), smoke ourselves to emphysema, but we can't smoke cloves, because they're a little worse than regular cigs?

Who the fuck cares these minute details, if it harms us even a little bit, then WHY is it legal for the uninformed or careless individuals to drink/smoke themselves to death.

I love cloves.

FYI: Rolling tobacco is now being sold as "pipe tobacco" to avoid the tax. I use "Southern Steel Maximum Flavored Pipe Tobacco".

$8 for a 6oz. bag. $16 for a 1lb. bag.

6oz. lasts me about a month. I use Zig-Zag 100's filter tubes and a Premier Supermatic QuickFill tube filler.

I spend $20 or less a month on cigarettes, and smoke about 1/2 - 3/4 pack a day.

Why the surprise?  A core tenant of modern liberals is banning things and making decisions for you because you aren't smart enough to decide for yourself.  Thankfully the internet still exists, I can get cuban cigars and real absinthe off the internet so I would assume you can circumvent this ban that way.  It is shitty that he is expanding prohibition though, even if it is just by a little bit.  But that is what people voted for...

Of course its not an all or nothing thing, there are varying degrees and liberals want more bannings and more restrictions on my life.  Fuck that, and fuck them.  I will do everything in my power to circumvent it and spite them every chance I get.

That whole roll-your-tax hit me real hard...

If you really look at a lot of these new taxes, regulations, and prohibitions, you find the lobby for Big-Tobacco behind them. They are trying to hold on to what's left of their market by eliminating the competition, and they have the entrenched lobbying mechanisms to pull it off.

The larger issue here, is that prohibitions spread. If you support one prohibition, because you don't like something, then you are likely to find that eventually someone will come after something you enjoy. People should really try to mind their own business in the first place...

As Eric Hoffer once said, "A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people's business."

there were saying the same thing about menthols a few years ago
menthol was claimed to contain fiberglass because of the menthol
crystals, far from being fiberglass since it's derived from mint
