I didn't think IB was that great. One of the reasons.. it was like watching a book. I took a few years of german and found myself tuning in and out trying to pick up on some translation, and reading the dialogue. It was definitely a cool and all around entertaining movie, but the fact remains it was like watching a book.

Yeah that was my issue. IMO a lot of the scenes could have been cut out. I did not care about anyone other than the Bastards.

I haven't seen it. I wont until I can find a clean torrent of it because I don't think it is that good.

I very rarely see movies in theaters. I saw District 9 and realized why I don't because it sucked. It was too hyped up. There was no plot. The only reason I found it interesting was because I was drinking in the theater.

District 9 was phenomenal. What movies do you find good, out of curiosity?

phenomenal? hahahaha, no wonder they put out so much crap in theaters these days, people like it.

laserpig, I usually love what you post, however...

DISTRICT 9 was a 2009 version of Mars Attacks....It had a plot that we've ALL seen a million times.

I think everyone who's bitching about District 9 is oblivious to all but the most basic details.
What I'm hearing is: "It's a movie about aliens. I've seen a movie about aliens before. Therefore, District 9 is lame."

You can all hate it as much as you like. In a world where most movies get SHIT reviews, a lot of people love the movie. I hate humans, it made me happy :vaped:

Nah, I get what you said about the main character being a prejudiced fool who knew nothing about the prawns, yet acted as if he knew what was best for them...

But dude, it's just another story about an ignorant guy getting a dose of humble medicine. It has been done thousands of times before....therefore lacking any ingenuity or creativity.

So you were pissed off there were subtitles? Would you rather all the Germans and French spoke in fluent americanized english?

I just got back from seeing it and although I sat a bit too close to the screen for the subtitles, my seating more than payed off for the final scene. I was in optimal spot for a full blown sensory orgasm thanks to the surround sound system. My ears were ringing until the credits finished rolling.

Great movie, even better than I thought it would be. The ending almost made my friends gf throw up.

Oh and I thought this thread was about Inglorious Basterds, not District 9.

If you wanna make a thread about some shitty sci-fi flick, go right ahead. And we will be polite enough to not talk about a different movie in it.

Thanks!

What???
Inglorious Basterds was alright BUT THAT'S IT!.
I wouldn't watch this movie again. It's 2 and a half hours. My ass hurt and it could've been way more entertaining. It seemed like the movie just wouldn't finish.

Personally, that is my opinion. I can't stand movies that are over 2 hours...unless it's Scarface.

Neither is the special effects that are put into it to glorify it.

So instead of making the aliens look EXTREMELY realistic, they should have made them look like every other run of the mill cgi alien, making nothing believable? Love the logic there. The effects were great as they should be. Don't make an alien film if you can't present them correctly.

Aliens aren't real.

So you base the merit of the movie by how numb your ass gets?

Did you not know how long it was before you went to see it?
