I just wanna say how cool this movie was. Definately Tarrentino, certainly violent, and just all around entertaining.

I haven't seen it. I wont until I can find a clean torrent of it because I don't think it is that good.

I very rarely see movies in theaters. I saw District 9 and realized why I don't because it sucked. It was too hyped up. There was no plot. The only reason I found it interesting was because I was drinking in the theater.

This is one of the few movies that I think I'm actually going to a theater to watch.  It looks amazing, and Tarrentino is awesome, as you mentioned.

What is District 9 actually about?  The commercials leave me confused :lol:

I agree i feel like a wasted some money watching Dist 9 in theaters, but I am a Tarrentino fan, and I had a hot date who was "willing to do anything to see it" so I was in a win win situation. Seldom ever do movies exceed my expectations, but this one did. It is cinema, for the sake of cinema, meant to be entertaining and engrossing. when you watch it, I dare you not to laugh.

District 9 was not phenomenal!

There were aliens trapped in Africa...ALiens....that got to our planet, but can get off our planet for over 20 years! Then they spend the entire movie evicting aliens and one guy gets splooged with alien juice and becomes one and helps one out.

THATS ALL!

IMO District 9 was a much better film than Inglorious Bastards. Both were good, but District 9 was just done much better.

So instead of making the aliens look EXTREMELY realistic, they should have made them look like every other run of the mill cgi alien, making nothing believable? Love the logic there.The effects were great as they should be. Don't make an alien film if you can't present them correctly.

I thought the main character was fantastic. The "hero by necessity" who ends up being fucked from every side in the end, who starts as just a normal guy, prejudiced like everyone else ... frankly I think you totally missed the point of that movie. I thought its treatment of man's inhumanity to "outsiders" was excellent.

If you just want Sci-Fi where a lot of different things happen, go watch Star Wars. I'll stick with the movie that had some quality, thanks.

They were workers and nothing more. Did you even watch the movie or were you too busy jerking off to the prawn porn?

Everything was explained pretty good. The only problem I saw with the movie was that the U.S didn't get involved, but at the same time we don't know what the situation was in the U.S. The aliens didn't come down with massive amounts of power, a virus had made most of them extremely weak. Where are the plotholes? Please do tell, I'm interested. Its very rare that a movie makes me go "Wow", but this one certainly did.

I didn't think IB was that great. One of the reasons.. it was like watching a book. I took a few years of german and found myself tuning in and out trying to pick up on some translation, and reading the dialogue. It was definitely a cool and all around entertaining movie, but the fact remains it was like watching a book.
