Should I shroom alone?

Alright so I have the option of shrooming alone tonight, or with a buddy.

I have done shrooms about 5-6 times now. Everytime I have done 4grams, including my first time. Except for the last time I did 7 grams which is apparently a heroic dose and I figured that out the hard way.

I have had a few bad trips the past few times I have done shrooms, last one was bad for a while (7gs) but then I got more happy and played video games with buddys later on.

The reason I don't want to do them with my buddy is that he likes to walk around outside, and hey I did too until we almost got mugged while on shrooms and almost got severely beaten up. From this expierience I believe is what my bad trips stem from and the fear of getting mugged, even if im inside.

However I am in a good mood to do them by myself, mellow out the lights, glass of OJ and some nice chill beatles music for the come up. What if I do 2 grams... wait till it hits me then do 2 more if im feeling ok, will that still be just as effective?

Dosing more shrooms won't do much at all.  I would just take em and have a blast.  Make sure you have enough things to occupy ur time otherwise you could get caught in thought loops when you are by urself, which can lead to a bad trip.

Although I agree that the best way to avoid the painful side of mushrooms is to keep yourself occupied (attached to reality really...), I think there should be a bit of discretion when identifying between "bad trips" and "difficult" trips.
  Almost all of my most profound trips have been difficult. I was confronted with challenging emotions and saw myself in brutal honesty. It sucks for a while, but then you break through and feel humbled by the experience. I would advise you trip wherever/however you would like, but make sure you give yourself time to just reflect. Often times, the more painful emotions and thoughts are only that way because we haven't learned to accept or cope with them. Mushrooms are incredibly effective at helping your mind digest some of it's shit...
 
  I've have one experience I consider a "bad trip." I mean, this trip was totally different from any psychedelic experience I've had. It wasn't simply painful, it was delusional. I heard screaming in my head, felt at times as though I would stop breathing, awful stuff. My mind was in such turmoil at the time, I wasn't able to cope at all with the flood of thoughts the mushrooms were throwing at me. I really should have given myself several days to first get over the stress at the time before my trip, but I somehow decided to trip that night. The point is, the bad trip was because I was hella stressed, sleep-deprived, and I just wanted to get fucked up. I was in no condition to trip that night. It was awful, worse than any "difficult" trip up to that date, and had a completely different feel...I felt an overwhealming evil for the first time on mushrooms.

  I'm sure you know what i'm talking about after several trips, just wanted to thro my opinion out there. Is it your first trip by yourself? I think it's quite a bit different, sometimes bit tougher. But it's always nice to trip curled up under the blankets it things get intense. :grin:

Thanks for your input, yes this is my first time tripping alone.

I realise now that maybe my past few trips wern't all bad trips but like you said "Difficult" i had to get over inner turmoil first before I had a good time, its weird, its like the shrooms wants you to solve your issues inside before it will let you have fun.

IME, eating more shrooms after I've initially dosed hasn't done much.  If you're in a good mood and have an evening to yourself, I say go for it alone and eat all 4 grams.  For me, that amount would be a perfect trip, but it may be different for you.  Doing them alone is a different experience, but one that can be greatly profound.  You can really learn a lot about yourself, and IME, it's always been a good thing!

Have a nice playlist of tunes ready.. I like to draw random weird shit with markers/paint when I'm shrooming.  Hell, even playing with glowsticks in a dark room is freaking awesome.  Some people say watching a movie/show is a wasted trip, but if you're looking to have a lil fun and laugh your ass off, find something to watch.  Lots of toys to keep your mind occupied and you really can't go wrong. 

Even just chilling out, holding onto the floor and just letting your mind flow is great.  Good luck with whatever you decide!  :mushroom2:

i have always preferred tripping alone.  my first mushroom trip was solo, and I had a blast. 

you won't have to concern yourself with the way everyone else is feeling or what they want to do.. you are totally free to enjoy every second of the trip.

solo trips always seem to go inward for me.. i bathe myself in closed eye visuals and just enjoy being alive.

Yes,but do about 3g,this seems to be a good dose for being alone for me.I mostly trip alone now anyway,or with a friend.

I think you should be fine. Just keep your head in a good place. sing and dance, that will always do it. and if you start to feel uncomfortable just change your setting. i use the bathroom as a safe spot sometimes and i love tripping into a mirror as well.

Also any idea how to get over this unkown fear ever since I almost got mugged on shrooms? 4gs of shrooms in my system and I was having great trips before that day and right up until the incident.

All the shit flowing through my head that night, while on shrooms if you guys understand how intense and scary that was. Eventually a bunch of my buddies (20 or so of them) came out and calmed me and my friend down and we went and smoked a bowl at my friends house all with these 20 people and it really chilled me out and made me feel safe. All I remember though is them making loud noises as we were walking to my buddies house (this was after the incident) I guess it was to show that we had dominace over the street, however we had 20 people so I don't think that was needed. Maybe they were just trying to cheer me up.

Yeah,it sound like the primal instincts kicked in,pack mentality in a positive way.It sucks when a bad thing happens on a psych.I have had something bad happen and I feel almost no buzz while it is happening,then later it comes back.

I've heard of people keeping a pill of Xanax ready in case their trip goes bad, once it goes bad you pop the xanax and the euphoria saves your trip. I've never done this however, but if you want you could. For a while me and my friend were really scared of muggers because we actually got chased by some massive native dude who had a knife and we were in no condition to 1. give him our money 2. try and fight him. We were completely baked and after that a lot of our jokes stemmed off the mugger mentality. That was like 1am we almost got mugged though, pretty scary at the time.

Muggers aren't anything to be that scared (well, they can be) of but I can see why a fear of them has probably been locked into your brain. After I almost got mugged me and my buddy would cross the street all the time just because there was a sketchy guy behind us. One time we took like a 30 minute detour (we were walking) just because we saw two sketchy dudes on either side of the street and we thought they had planned this together, mind you we were stoned and paranoid in a funny way, so we did this hole weird detour. We always made fun of ourselves for our paranoia involving muggers.


Edit: Whenever something bad happens to me on psychs I always feel pretty fucking scared because I feel much more vulnerable. I'm also worried about people seeing my massive pupils and thinking that because I'm high on something I should be an easier target...classic drug paranoia
