Ambitious New Grower Gives Birth To A Mycobag...

I'm quite new to all this and hope I'm on my way to reaching complete mushroom grower's enlightenment.
I figured because I have no experience with actually growing (just all the guides and such that I've been studdying), the best place to start would be with soemthing all-inclusive... like a mycobag!...right?
I innoculated my mycobag today with a Mazatapec spore syringe per the instructions. My bag is sitting atop a reptile heating pad that I figured would provide the necessary heat (79-83 degrees F.). You guys think this heating device will provide what is needed?
O, and am I forgetting anything?
Thanks for the help... wish me luck

The heat pad is just plugged into a wall; i don't have the optional thermostat. It' just supposed to be 83 F when operated like I am.

Hmm well you dont want it too hot so I would try to find out how hot it is. If you can rest your hand on it comfortably then it should be ok but i dunno. Wait for more experienced shroomers to post.

I have a feeling that the heating rock is probably a little too warm for your myco bag. Go ahead and measure the temp, but I would bet money that it is too hot.

That heating pad may be a little hot, what I would do is find a container that will handle the heat and accomodate your bag. Put your heater under the container and place the bag in it. Add some water to surround the bag and disperse the heat evenly to the bag. Get a thermometer and monitor the water temp. If it is too hot mabe space it with pennies or somthing. More pennies (one layer)= more heat transfer/contact points.
Just a thought
