Mistake to order spores right now?

I was wanting to order a syringe from a vendor on here that ships UPS. I know there have been discussions on this but right now it is really hot in TX. My main concern isn't with it sitting in my mailbox for too long, it is sitting in the UPS truck all day before being delivered. I happen to have a close friend that works for UPS and says on a 100+degree day the inside of their truck can easily be above 140-150degrees. Considering the truck is loaded around 8am, and not delivered until around 3pm, that is a lot of time sitting in that heat. Would it be smarter to wait another month or so for a temperature drop?

Or arrange to pick it up at the UPS place instead of having it delivered.

thats too hot. thermal limits for spores is 50C, meaning damage starts to happen and long enough exposure could well kill them at temps of 50C and above.

I live in garland and i just used aire shipping. 2 days after i ordered from sporeworks i waited by the door for my spores so the only time they got hot was sitting in the delivery truck. And Ive had plenty of spore prints sent to me over the past month. so far so good with the B+ i started.

this is probably your best bet. ralphsters sent mine usps. they sat in the mail box on 105f day. i'm in south texas now. i used 1 syringe and it still worked.

I've been ordering spores right and left for the past month or so. Try to use USPS. But I've got a few from UPS too and so far they have all been fine. Just waiting to see if the P.Rican is ok.

when i got spores from ralph, it was around 100 degrees outside. it came in a truck as well.

had no problem and the spores were somehow still viable.

Or, get the spores at a local headshop. it may cost a little more, but you have them in your hand the same dsay you pay for them.

I don't know if that's good advice there. No way to know where they came from, who made them, or how long they have been around.
Or are they 'freshness dated'? Do our sponsors sell their branded stuff in retail shops?

My curiosity is piqued!

I got my spores at the toronto hemp company (i dont think this counts as a vendor, does it?), where they had about 5/10 possible strains in stock.

paid on the spot, and got my syringe straight from the minifridge.

Maybe it's just me and my paranoia but I wouldn't buy spores at a headshop...where anyone can see my face and what I am buying. I don't want anyone to know what I am doing not even my family.

Headshops are pretty anonymous places. And by going in person and paying in cash, there's no paper trail.

A lot of good talking points here. I personally wouldn't buy from a head shop either for the same stated reasons. I always use spore works & they are beyond a superb company. Stick with an online vendor.. IMO. I have never had a problem with the heat during transit. My recommendation would be to place the spores directly into the refrigerator when you receive them to ensure some level of quality.
