Re: A picture of Coaster's pets. [Re: Gumby]

Haha, yeah it's a crying shame.

My sister falls into this category as well.

B.S. in Economics obtained from UCSB.
M.B.A with a focus in Marketing obtained from Pepperdine.
Income: 100K/year salary from working at Myspace.

Here's the shocker. She's 70K in debt from school loans, has about 2grand in her bank account, doesn't own a house, and is leasing a 10 year old car.

She's been working for about 7 years now......

Talk about moronic. Plus she's been educated in economics, how can she be  so bad with money, ROFL.

Ahh, I apologize for not mentioning that my father paid for her entire college tuition and gave her $10,000 to put a down payment on a house, which she blew on other expenses instead.

Oh, and UCSB, not UCLA.

Up in Canada we hardly have that many pests. The occasional mouse in rural areas and sometimes a beehive.

That's because Canada is made out of ice. All you have up there are polar bears, seals, penguins, moose, and artic hardy ice rats and mice. And ice weasels.

I'm sorry, we keep having misunderstandings/miscommunications.

My dad paid for entire *undergrad college tuition. She paid, well, borrowed $70k for her graduate tuition, and prior to that was working for 8 years, and doesn't have a dime to her name.

Well she has a masters and a good job, shes probably happy with were she is at with her life. Loans take a long time to pay off give her some more time.

Oh no doubt loans take a long time to pay off.

But she's been making $80K and up for the past 4 years and has managed to spend all that  money on trips, food, and clothing. She didn't even have enough money to put a $3k down payment on a car as recently as one month ago, and is leasing(AKA, throwing money away) on a ten year old audi.

She spent virtually every single dollar she earned in 8 years. I guess that doesn't shock you guys, but it floors me.

She has been living life to the fullest traveling the world it seems, she is young and using her money the way she wants to. Having a good car is low priority when you can see the world, you can't do that the same when your older.

You know her pretty well for not knowing her at all.

(sarcasm).

She's one of the most insecure persons I have ever met, and I think a lot of that insecurity is due to blowing her money extravagantly. She even blew 10 grand that my parents gave her to throw on a down payment on a house.... she just spent that money instead.

Maybe you're right. Let's give her ten years, we'll see if she suddenly reaches some epiphany and starts saving her hard earned dollars.

You have some infatuation with saving. She has money and she is spending it and being happy while doing so, money depreciates in value don't forget.

Detrimental, you have no idea what kind of family I grew up in(my dad gambled my entire college education on the stock market, and lost it), spent well over 120K on my sister's education, including rent, food, utilities, and tuition, and left me with a couple grand, for me to scrounge for the rest.

To see all that money that was spent on her, and her not even utilizing her advantages, kills me.

You bask in ignorance to make judgments on things you know nothing about. I used to be like you.
