Perlite ????

I bought some perlite yesterday for my grow chamber and just noticed it's the kind that say enriched with miracle gro plant food. Will that ruin my project? Should I return it?

This is one of those religious issues.
I use Miracle Gro perlite, and it works for me. Others claim that it is the spawn of Satan and I'll go to hell over it. There's a middle ground argument of 'why take chances'. But you have it already, my advice is to use it.

anything with nutes is bringing up your risk of contams but as long as u have healthy cakes it shouldnt really be a problem just add a little h202 to ur mist water

I've used it.Just rinse it with hot water first.

This was my thought, it's a rock, just wash it well and the nutes will go away.

It's not even 'nutes' in that sense, just minerals. It might grow algae, but I doubt it will grow fungus.

Really, somebody should do some experiments, with pics.

no just rinse it really well it does not harbor contams that is why we love it

If you're especially paranoid you can boil it or give it a brief diluted bleach soaking. Usually these things are only done if it was in an FC which got contaminated.

Exactly. Or spray LC on it. Especially if you have "known bad" syringe that you know will grow trich.

or bake it too. that will certainly kill off anything bad it may have.
