The way funerals should be done.
    #10671616 -

So I was talking with a oldschool Shroomerite about Alzheimer's and it turned out he is doomed to get it too. That led to the topic of death (deep topic, forserious). Yes, it's morbid but everyone dies eventually.

I decided that when I die, I DEMAND there be a gigantic party after the funeral. I mean a proper party. Tons of booze, pot, and whatever anyone else desires. Being sad is overrated. Have fun, talk about good times you had with that person, just bullshit with everyone... That how funerals should be.

Another condition of me dying: I'm going to have my body either donated to science or floated down the amazon river and eaten by fish. Weird? Yeah, maybe.

If I have the money saved, I want all of my closet friends to go on a cruise together.

Again, I know it's a taboo subject, but those are my plans for when I die. What are yours?

Part 1: Be sad and say good byes. That is if there is anyone that will be sad and want to say good bye.
Part 2: Go somewhere else and party.

That's what we did for my mom pretty much and it's the best way in my mind. No point in moping around the whole time.

Most people have a morbid fear of death. I'm not sure why, really.

Honestly, I really don't care what happens to me after I'm dead. As far as I'm concerned, I'm worm food anyhow (well, possibly then shroom food after that. Who bulks with worm casings?). Funerals are for the living, let those fuckers figure it out.

Either way, you sound like you know how to put the fun back in funeral, gumby.

Funerals arnt for the dead they are for the living. I doubt your loved ones will want to party hardy when you die.

Go the way of Steady Ed, the man who invented disc golf. He had his cremated remains infused in a batch of plastic that was molded into a special run of discs. Then I want all my friends and family to have one and go out an PLAY with my discs.

I don't know what my chances are of getting Alzheimer's, but my grandmother died from complications that came from it.

That doesn't sound too bad. I wouldn't want my friends/family to be all upset. I don't know if I could picture them all partying, but some sort of fun activity would be nice. Maybe I'd leave enough money behind to send them all on a nice long vacation somewhere really nice.

exactly.

plus, chances are you'll die at an age where the people closest to you wont really be up for getting drunk and high.  be it their age or personal ways of mourning, there is a reason why funerals are the way they are.  when you die, you're dead; let your survivors cope however they want. and donate your body to a medical school.

How about you let me worry about my funeral and my loved ones and in return I won't tell you have to run your shit?

Exactly. I've been to 2 funerals in the past 6 days. No one wanted to party hardy after either of them.

I wouldn't want a standard funeral. I'd want it to be a party.. a remembrance of the good times of life, not a mourning of death.
And all that shit with a morgue and an expensive ass coffin.. fuck that. Just burn me to ashes and toss them somewhere.
Actually I think I wrote something about how I want my funeral to be in my journal..

I'm not pissy.
Just saying it's not really your place to tell others how a funeral should be.

im just trying to bring up the point that in most cases, based on the average life span that is pushing past 70, the people closest to you arent gonna wanna take shots and smoke blunts if you die around then.  theyre gonna feel sad and vulnerable. of course life should be celebrated and im not saying you should not party after the death of a loved one, but i also havent experienced your outlook to be the case in most situations.

maybe if you died between the age of 20-40, but that just isnt the case for most people.

I mean if you're older your can still get together and party without necessarily getting wasted.

I find the best way to cope with death is to remember. Obviously part of that is sadness, but part is also happiness. Celebrating life in death. Hanging out with friends and having a good time is better than sitting around being sad in my mind.

If I die when I'm old then if I have kids or grandkids they can party. Even if you're not young there will almost always be young people involved in your life. Plus knowing my family and friends age won't restrict getting loaded.

I hope I die far out in the wilderness and my body just decomposes where I die.

That way the forest can use my body for nutriets or some hippie bullshit like that...
