Best way to pick mushies

Is there any way to keep from tearing chunks outta the casing layer when u pick those big thick stemmed rooted muthaf*ckas?!? It's not good to tear em off at the base is it?? Thanks!!!

mist your casing layer nicely before hand and you should pull off less material.
