It has no anti-fungal properties that I'm aware of.  I've used it in substrates and casing mixes because it holds a LOT of water and can help support monster flushes.  It works as an insecticide by cutting bugs to pieces as they crawl over it, and is useless after a rain.  I doubt the pill bugs are interested in your mycelium anyway.

Thank you for answering but the only bugs I can find even if I dig in a little are the little armored rolly polly things. Of course I'm not staying up all night watching or anything. I've taken your advice about copper and slugs. Again thanks. From what i've read DE was a good first option. All I know is that my vegies are being mowwed on. and someday I was hoping for a better result from the spent mono's that I screwed up the pausterization on. I even tried nicotine as a deterrent. I just don't know. I've read that I should grow enough for the bugs and me but these little bastards have a head start.
It don't reall matter too much. I was just hoping for a miracle and either the old lady is going out and grazing in the night or I am dosing bugs?
You gotta love the stupid learning curve.

You gotta re apply after rain. Probably more likely slugs or snails munching your grow. DE works pretty good for those too, or there are iron phosphate based baits that are organic that you can scatter around the perimiter to kill the slugs or snails. I'm not sure how mycelium would respond to direct contact though.

Thanks for the info, all I know is that something is eating my little fruits. They are sad little fruits but they are mine. I'd feed the damn critters if I could get them to leave my little shit alone.

Be aware that two types of DE are generally available. Do not breathe this stuff. You’ll get silicosis soon enough.

Insecticide use is raw mined, often found listed as Fossil Shell Flour.

The type sold for water filtration is fired to melt the sharding tips of the diatoms. Still holds water like a champ.

Correct RR. It was not the pill bugs. slugs had found a way in past my defences. Just wanted to say you were correct. Thanks.

A ring of copper pipe will turn the slugs around.  They don't like to crawl over copper.

Sorry to but in, but has anyone had success with the dish full of beer method for controling snails and slugs?
