The shifts are structured around all the lazy old union workers at post (literally 90% of the workers would have been 50years old+, probably 50% of them would be verging on retirement).

In a 5 hour shift there is really only 3 hours work tops even if you work slow.

I first got in there at 21yo's.

If you got a bit of common sense, you rearrange that here, this there, do this bit quicker, skip that bit... and suddenly you're getting paid for 3 hours of recreational time and the other 2 hours are a walk in the park.

I never stay on fulltime because I'm a uni student... but I tell you, if I had to do an unskilled job for the rest of my life, that would be it. Get your $800 a week with complete job security and zero stress.

Done it 3 years now over university break.

1st year. Bought a $3500 kitesurfing setup, brand new gaming PC and paid for 1/2 my skydiving course.
2nd year. Bought my skydiving rig ($6500) and a motorbike
3rd year. Banked enough for ~200 jumps and a wingsuit

Love weekend shifts, 8 hours @ $50/hr = $400, and there's no post offices open on weekends so it's even easier then mentioned above, sometimes you do NOTHING except wait at the depot incase a call comes in (they got billards/snooker tables, ping pong, big TV room).

I got an email about casual drivers position- the only problem is I don't know how to drive stick shift :suicide:

Can't read a map, can't drive manual... will you be much use on my UFO? :vaped:

All our vans were auto, the Ford Transits were strange, auto but with a manual gearbox.

So you could pull up onto a box in D, rip on the handbrake/jump out passenger door. Clear the box, drop the handbrake and blast off.
