It wasn't always that clear-cut, especially not on the Republican side. The NWO would have had to control Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Guliani, Romney, Huckabee, McCain, Thompson and yes, even Paul. All of those people had a chance of winning the election. Hell, McCain almost dropped out in mid-2007.

As far as I'm concerned, 'God' (which I take to mean the universe) having a purpose or not having one is an illogical trait to assign.  God, by its very nature, would be so profound and holistic that assigning to it objectives is petty personification. I think that instead of having a purpose, it would just 'be.'

Just because the world is fucked up doesn't mean it's a conspiracy.  It's the sign of a simple minded person to need everything wrapped up into a neat sci fi story like that.  In real life, things are much more complicated.  I know it must be comforting to imagine that, even if they are bad, somebody is in control.  But the reality is even more terrifying: nobody is in control.  It's up to every individual to stop being a dumbass and start contributing to keeping our species alive.

I think that there are conspiracies, but not everything is. I don't buy into chem trails, but I do think that the profit and power motives drive people to do awful things. I also think that those of enormous wealth do come together and use influence to sway the world. I think if they did want us dead, they could kill us better, and that we do do baaad things that make us evil(florid for example, and we have a large area here so polluted that the LAND is condemned). I don't buy into chemtrails without proof either. I'm cautious, but some things go too far without proof, like cloud busting.
Be on your toes, but don't fall over and become nutty. Citizens do nee to wake up and make their own choices.
