Do you ever just want to give up and let someone else show you how they live?

Like when you've fucked up too much (money, living situation, whatever).

After awhile sometimes I feel like just putting it all down, lassoing some yuppie off the street, telling him everything, and then following him around seeing how he manages things in intense detail. Especially cash flow. I fucking SUCK at cash flows even though budgeting is easy as hell. "I know I only allowed myself to spend $40 this time, but this is only $10!! Who's going to miss $10?" etc..

Maybe I should go to Peet's Coffee and Tea and dose the Coffee with acid. Then when things start to get weird, pull out the most affluent looking person and asking them to tell me everything.

Its not really rocket science.  It just takes hard work.

For me it went a little something like this:

1. public high school with hard work and good grades
2. Scholarship to college.
3. Acceptance to grad school and advanced degree.
4. First job after advanced degree.
5. 90k/year job with guaranteed increase each year.

And the whole time:  not buying shit I couldn't afford. 

I'd love for someone to lasso me off the street and tell me their story.

You see, that's a major thing right there. I can't find ANY scholarships. The websites I use don't really link me to anything but minority scholarships or ones that require your family to wicked poor.

So I'm slapped with tons of student loans while watching people far more affluent than me getting grant after grant and free rides. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? I use the two most recommended scholarship sites.

Choose your school wisely.  I went to a cheap state school.  At the time, (1997) it was about 8k/year.

The alternative is a community college for two years.

The other issue is that while going to school, expect to have said issues.  Pretty much by definition you'll be broke and have shitty roommates/living situations while in college.

Hey man, I go to community college which pays for all my classes and books then gives me back what i didn't spend (which can be a couple hundred dollars).

but it's not very rewarding. and i really hate money and the cash flow. people let paper rule their lives, and sometimes it is true money can buy you happiness.

but i don't know man. try hanging out with some people who you consider successful.
