Crossing Peppers
    #10037299 -

Could I collect pollen from say a naga jolokia flower, and then bag the pollen I collected over a banana pepper flower to get a pepper that has seeds that are crossed?

if they belong to the same species.

You wouldn't be able to tell till you planted the resulting seeds obviously.

Good luck if you decide to try!

Well, they are all from Capsicum aren't they? Id be trying to mix chocolate habaneros, jolokias, bannana peppers, and jalapenos. Im not sure which ones I want to mix with which yet.

I'm going to experiment with them whenever they are putting out more flowers.

technically speaking different species are not suppose to cross breed (tell that to the plants)....but anyway, like brain said, its not so easy.....i mean ya its easy to pollinate but success will vary with different methods!  if your crossing within the habanero group you are probably good, its a little easier to do so, but there are controls you need to put up to avoid cross contamination and self fertilization....to name a couple.
