Pronouncing the "S"

(sigh) :facepalm:

So i'm chilling in my room with some neighbors watching the college basketball tourny.  We're all talking about our brackets.  My room mate goes on to pronounce the S in "Illinois" AND "Louisville."  All my neighbors in the room were like "wow, dude are you that fucking stupid."  Then an augment ensued about pronouncing the S. 

I hope not all people from texas are that dumb.

Remember when you made that thread about how your room mate fucked a supposedly busted bitch and you were going to get a picture of her? Well you posted the picture and the girl who was supposed to be really ugly was actually better looking than the girl you wanted to fuck. That was hilarious.

I don't really think it's so much a matter of  being dumb or not. Rather, I think it's just that he's used to a different regional dialect. Hell, I pronounce the s as well and I wouldn't consider myself dumb so much as just Idahoan.

i think all silent letter should be abolished they over complicate things and they suck, so from now on i am pronouncing all letters in words except e

How the natives pronounce it is how it should be pronounced.

It can't be "low-iss". ou doesn't make that sound. That's like calling a person named Louis, Lois.

I agree with the above poster. The natives pronounce it correctly.
