Hmm...I can't find the main study I had in mind but here's some similar link.

"Patients showed significantly more activation of left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex with highest cognitive load. Additionally, they showed higher activation in ventromedial prefrontal cortex during the control condition."
I will look a bit more if I can find a more precise study.

It sounds like you are answering your own question, and I agree.  Pessimism does not help at all.

Both mind states would be helpful under certain conditions. Rationalism always.

Why spread it around unless you have a hidden agenda of destroying the same humanity you are inevitably a part of.

I would love to destroy humanity as it is now. Had I not become pessimistic about the propaganda of our educational system, parents, government, etc. I would most likely now be married and in debt and miserable and thinking this was a the best possible world. No thank you.

I'm guessing that my "pessimism" is more "optimistic" (and for sure more realistic) then the fantasy based optimism of many here.

Don't mock me son.:satansmoking:

Much optimism around here reminds me of the Jews telling themselves that going into the concentration camps would just be temporary and everything would work out ok. Because no one would want to do what was about to happen to them.

I doubt that. In the dark age we are entering everything will be forgotten. Probably for the best too.
