How do I take the background out of this?

I just want the letters. Nothing else.

I don't use photoshop, but I use gimp and I'm sure it's got similar options. Look for a select by color, click the white, then clear it somehow. Clear selection, maybe even just hitting the delete key? You may have to create an alpha channel first.

I found where I change the background color but their isn't an option for "no background" as far as I can see.

Just crop out what you want, and past it on a transparent background.

Here's my attempt:



To do that I did this: Copy image>Photoshop>File>New...>Okay>Paste image>Delete background layer>Select>Color Range...>Click where it's white on the original image>Mess around with fuzziness until it looks good>Okay>Hit delete key>Save>Select .gif

A much better method would be to get the .psd file and delete the white background layer, that way the gradient of the drop shadow doesn't fade to white.
