I think tattoos in general are a bad idea. Opinions change, tattoos stay there til you die. I think heroin is a powerful chemical, doesn't mean I'm going to get it tatted on my arm.

Heroin wouldn't represent love, unity, and the birth of ones concious being. Many will not understand why one would get this tattoo.  But if one wishes to be reminded by a tattoo of  a great influence then a molecule image can make a lot of sense. Its the meaning behind the chemical, to the individual.

I can tell you've never been strung out.  I've learned more about myself from opiates than from LSD.  I like LSD a lot though, but I wouldn't get either molecule tattooed on my body.

I'm doomed then I've got a whole arm dedicated to the active chains of substances that have changed my life and thinking..I think there is nothing wrong with the molecular tatoo...go for it!!

I dont think it should really bother you what people think, generally Ive learned threwout my life that most people cannot think enough to take care of themselves let alone give constructive criticism about what someone else might do to themselves. I got a band of an LSD, psilocybin and MDMA molecule wrapped around my forearm when i was 16 or 17 (whenever its legal to get a tattoo in Canada.) - It was pretty badass.

Bad idea - i grew to regret it. Its covered now (i actually just got home from adding to the cover up.)

I love LSD, think psychedelics are great, am totally into living a psychedelic/radical/untraditional lifestyle for the rest of my days....

BUT...

Answering questions about the molecule on your arm gets extremely uncomfortable after awhile.

Take into consideration having to answer questions to your family, teachers, co-workers, partners family, boss's, cops, airport security, customs, etc.

Of course, i lied if i thought it was an issue + sometimes just wouldn't answer.

Id say to the OP - if you are considering doing this in a public place, you should get something less literal to symbolize your reverence for LSD. Molecules are a bit too blatant and obvious IMO.

I've got another stupid drug reference tattoo that i plan on covering up aswell.

Use caution - the novelty will wear off when you grow up, or change situations.

getting tattoos for aesthetic appeal is just as good a reason as any. What special and meaningful now will not be 10 years from now. Good artwork should be able to stand or fall on its own without meaning.

My most meaningful tattoos are the most ridiculous, i let any friend who wants to tattoo blast out on my left leg, its nothing but memories i love it.

thats what i did anyway, but not with an lsd tat :]


id stay away from UV ink's unless the artists is pretty experianced with them specifically. Its harder to work with, more prone to infection, and not FDA approved.

I hate plain skin its so boring.

Id like to know how many people that give out such strong opinions on the subject actually have tattoos and to what extent.

no tattoo inks are actually 'approved' either, well, not in the uk anyway - the UV ink i had done is the same stuff they put in fish to track them, which we then eat. its more tested than a lot of UV inks, or i wudnt have got it done! so long as u make sure its right right ink - chameleon ink i believe - it ought to be without any problems!

but fair points uve made; theyre not for everyone and if u get the wrong type of uv ink they can be dangerous. ive got two tho, and had no issues at all. got pics of them in my gallery i think.


iv been tattooing for 7 years, its alot harder to work with. If the artist has experience with it of course it gets easier over time. Comparing UV ink to regular ink is like comparing cucumbers to bananas.

Chameleon ink is like the industry standard for UV inks but i dislike the fact that they claim their ink is FDA approved however like you said no ink has ever been approved by the FDA
