New to the Forums, just to say Hello

I joined the forums on shroomery.org about a week ago, and I'm quite impressed. I look forward to posting with you all.
A bit about myself: I've been training as a shaman (in the religious sense of the word) for about 6 years now. My mother's paternal side of the family is Cherokee, so she tried to raise me as best she could with traditional Native values. About 6 years ago I discovered the earth religions, and have dedicated myself to shamanic learning since then. My tradition usually uses states of intense meditation rather than psycotropic substances for "vision questing". However, in learning about all the plants and mushrooms used by "earth people" to heal (a topic of great interest to me), I found many other traditions who use "magic" plants/mushrooms to see visions, and this has intrigued me. My tradition doesn't expressly forbid the use of such things, and I took it upon myself to try them. I have had visions with cannibis three times now, and I am preparing this month for my first journey with "teonanacatl", as the South American shamans call it, and I think that I am at a point in my spiritual journey where I can rely on my faith and not have a "bad trip" as you call it. I will let you all know how it goes.
Other than my spiritual life, I'm not that much different than anyone else. I was born, raised, and still live with my fiancee in the midwest.
Again, I am very much looking forward to sharing knowledge with all of you.

cool... my paternal grandfather was lakota and irish... i?ve been told that doesn?t amount to much... i feel differently though... for some time now, i?ve felt out of touch with the lives we?ve been tricked into accepting as "normal"... i?m trying to use the skills i?ve learned to create a new way in life...  i?ve also taken level 1 reiki classes with 2 women locally... one hands on, the other hands off... i felt at a loss when i was told i could be a reiki master within a year or so... something doesn?t seem right about that...

i had the chance to meet a man in manhatten named william martin... amazing guy, who has been on the same path ur on for over 20 years now... his idea?s regarding disease changed my life single handed...
